La Curio 'New World Order' Sangiovese

We have strived to source fruit from some of the best vineyards in McLaren Vale.  The New World Order Sangiovese is sourced from a single vineyard planting on McMurtrie Road.

Raspberry lift on the nose combines with an alluring herbal mint note and is  supported by oak spice of  subtle cinnamon and vanilla. The generous palate delivers more raspberry and plum, layered with savoury notes of bitter chocolate and finishes with a rustic tannin profile indicative of the varietal.

We employ cold soak maceration, partial carbonique maceration and yeast lees ageing as some of our techniques in crafting this truly curious wine. The must is then traditionally hand plunged and basket pressed prior to barrel fermentation in a touch of new French Allier oak, the majority being matured in five year old tight grained French and American oak for eighteen months.

The Sangiovese was bottled with no filtration to preserve the natural fruit expression.
