La Curio 'Original Zin' Primitivo

We have strived to source fruit from some of the best vineyards in McLaren Vale. The Original Zin Primitivo is sourced from a single vineyard planting on California Road.

A complex aroma of Christmas pudding combines with an alluring floral lavender note and is supported by oak spice of subtle nutmeg. The generous palate delivers more plum, layered with savoury notes of bitter chocolate and finishes with a burst of red berry fruits .
We employ cold soak maceration, partial carbonique maceration and wild yeast fermentation as some of our techniques in crafting this truly curious wine. The must is
then traditionally hand plunged and basket pressed prior to being matured in five year old tight grained French and American oak for eighteen months.
The Primitivo was bottled with no filtration to preserve the natural fruit expression.
